Joint Gaze (Attention) of Virtual Human
Joint attention is the shared focus of two or more individuals on specific objects or points of interest. Joint attention is typically correlated with joint gaze—the common/shared gaze by the individuals towards the same object/point of interest. Joint gaze (along with gestures) offer important non-verbal cues that allow interlocutors to establish common ground in communication between collocated humans. Here, I research human perceptions of a virtual human (e.g., co-presence) with respect to the virtual human's (joint) gaze behavior.
