I am a postdoctoral scholar at the Synthetic Reality (SREAL) Lab in the Institute for Simulation and Training with an appointment in the College of Nursing, University of Central Florida (UCF). I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science under the supervision of Prof. Greg Welch at UCF (Department of Computer Science). My Ph.D. research was about environmental physical-virtual interaction and social presence with Virtual Humans (VHs) in Mixed Reality (MR). For example, I investigated the effects of coherent and plausible VH behaviors interacting with the surrounding physical environment on the sense of social presence with the VH and the trustworthiness of it. My research interests broadly cover pervasive context-aware MR systems to improve user experience and perception in MR, while emphasizing social interactions with/through virtual entities.
